Origins Sun Jian gets 20% Atk buff per Jiangdong Hero emblem, as well as +60% Atk and -50% Def while in Danger Zones.
His unique increases Atk by 4% each time you clear a Danger Zone (Max 80%) and Def +7% per Wu emblem.
There's not many Jiangdong Hero emblems, but the buff is pretty big. If you miss them, then your run's going to go much slower. The Danger Zone buff/debuff is, well, a double edged sword. In Origins Mode, fighting Lu Bu at the end is in a Danger Zone, so it'll apply there, but Lu Bu does hit pretty damn hard so losing -50% Def is a hell of a detriment.
The Danger Zone buff isn't as good as it sounds, you'd need to clear 20 of them to get the full buff and you can just get unlucky and not run into any. The Def buff from Wu Emblems will help keep you alive, and you want to aim for them to get the Jiangdong Heroes anyways. But I didn't win this run, I don't think I got all the Jiangdong Heroes in this run so my damage just felt lower than it should have been. And the Atk bonus doesn't feel worth the Def loss because I swear you can feel a Def loss a lot more than you can feel an Atk increase. So I'd really just avoiding fighting Lu Bu as Sun Jian.
