So just 5 days before I hopped on a plane to Georgia for the 2019 Fort Benning Multigun Challenge I decided to change divisions from my usual Tactical Optics, to Limited (or Tactical Irons) division. The primary difference between the two being the use of a variable zoom optic vs a fixed 1x non-magnified optic (or iron sights) on the rifle. Limitations on shotgun and pistol vary from match to match.
Regardless, I'd never tried Limited Division before, and thought it would be a fun departure for my final major match of the year to do so. Vortex rushed a Spitfire AR out to me, and I rushed out to the range to zero it in at 200 yards.
On my way out to the range though, I realized, I'd never zeroed a 1x optic at such a distance, so I called a few Vortex shooting teammates that compete in Limited Division often how they go about getting the most accurate zero possible. Needless to say, I learned a lot, very quickly, and I'm pleased with the results. Let me know what you think!
