The 2025 KTM 390 Enduro R brings legitimate dual-sport capability to the lightweight adventure class with a machine purpose-built for off-road performance. Powered by KTM’s updated 399cc DOHC LC4c single-cylinder engine, the Enduro R delivers 44 horsepower at 8,500 rpm and 28.8 lb-ft of torque at 7,000 rpm, put to the rear wheel through its six-speed gearbox.
The powerplant features modern amenities such as ride-by-wire throttle with an optional Quickshifter+ available for seamless clutchless shifting.
An all-new powder-coated steel trellis frame and bolt-on subframe make up the flickable chassis. Suspension travel sits at 9.1 inches front and rear, handled by a WP APEX 43mm open-cartridge fork and a preload-adjustable WP APEX rear shock, offering ample adjustment for serious off-road use. The 390 Enduro R rolls on a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel setup wrapped in Metzeler Karoo 4 tires, lending confidence both on trail and on pavement.
The electronics suite is surprisingly well-equipped for this class. Street and Offroad ride modes are standard, along with traction control and a dedicated Offroad ABS mode, all governed by a Bosch ECU. Braking is handled by ByBre hardware with a 285mm front disc and 240mm rear. Up front, a new 4.2-inch TFT display houses Bluetooth connectivity via the KTMConnect app, allowing for music control, phone access, and turn-by-turn navigation. A USB-C charging port is standard.
With a claimed wet weight of around 340 pounds (sans fuel) and an MSRP expected around $5,499, the 390 Enduro R delivers a remarkable blend of tech, power, and long-travel suspension in a platform that’s approachable for beginners yet capable enough to keep seasoned riders smiling through the whoops.
