With torrents of rain and countless climbs on the cards, Mike Woods – second here twelve months ago – revealed his new ‘positive thinking’ technique for the race: “gooood”. Then, on the day itself, we went in the team car with the kings of cool, sports directors Tom Southam and Juanma Garate, and EF Gone Racing presenter Harry Dowdney learnt how to give bottle hand ups roadside from super-soigneur ‘Disco’ Jonny Adams. Allez, c’est La Doyenne!
