Pilot Jeff Womack flies a 1933 Aeronca C-3, powered by a 2-cylinder, 39 horsepower engine, during a special exhibition at the inaugural Swamp STOL event, part of the National STOL Series.
Built in an era when efficiency mattered more than horsepower, the Aeronca C-3 represents the roots of light aircraft design — simple, lightweight, and purposeful. Seeing an aircraft like this still flying is a reminder of how far aviation has come, and how well these early airplanes were engineered.
This flight was presented as a historical exhibition and not part of the competition.
