King Charles III received a Rolls-Royce as a coronation gift. The Rolls-Royce Cullinan Series II motor car was given by the King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifa. It is thought to be worth at least £300,000 and will be used on official occasions, not for personal use. It's been transferred into an official state car that will be used for state visits and official royal events.
This was the first time it's been seen on the Mall and it was used today as a backup for the royal carriages that were bringing the ambassador to meet King Charles at St James's Palace.
The number plate NL2 belonged to the late queen mother and was on her
Daimler DE 36.
