නියං සමයෙදී පමණක් දැකගත් හැකි සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම ජලයෙන් යටවී තිබෙන කඩදොර විහාරය (කඩදොර ශ්‍රී ප්‍රියබිම්බාරාම විහාරය ලෙසද හැඳින්වේ) යනු ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ නුවරඑළිය දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ කඩදොර හි පිහිටි සුන්දර පුදබිමකි. 1979 දී මහවැලි සංවර්ධන වැඩසටහන මගින් කොත්මලේ වේල්ල ඉදිකිරීම නිසා මෙම විහාරස්ථානය විනාශයට පත්විය. කොත්මලේ ජලාශයේ ජල මට්ටම අඩු වූ විට විහාරයේ නටබුන් තවමත් දැකිය හැකිය.
1985 ජලාශයේ ඉදිකිරීම් නිමවීමත් සමඟ කොත්මලේ ගම්මාන 57ක් සහ ආගමික ස්ථාන 54ක් පමණ යට වූ බව පැවසේ. කඩදොර විහාරය හැර තිස්පනේ විහාරය, මොරපේ දේවාලය, ඔතලාව විහාරය, පත්තිනි දේවාලය සහ මැදගොඩ විහාරය ඇතුළු අනෙකුත් සිද්ධස්ථාන ජලාශය ඉදිකරන විට ජලයෙන් යට වූ බව කියනු ලැබේ. කෙසේ වෙතත්, මෙම විහාරස්ථාන නටබුන් බොහොමයක් දැන් නොමැත.
ජලාශයට යට වූ මෙම ආගමික සිද්ධස්ථාන සිහිගැන්වීම සඳහා මහවැලි බලධාරීන් විසින් බුබුලු හැඩැති චෛත්‍යයක්, උසින් අනුරාධපුර රුවන්වැලි සෑයට පමණක් දෙවැනි වන මහවැලි මහා සෑය නුදුරින් ඉදිකරන ලදී. මම කඩදොර විහාරය හා සැබැදි පුවත් රැසක් මෙම විහාරය සමග මිහිදන්ව ඇත.

The Kadadora Viharaya (also known as the Kadadora Sri Priyabimbarama Viharaya) is a beautiful religious site located in Kadadora, Nuwara Eliya District, Sri Lanka, which is completely submerged and visible only during droughts. The temple was destroyed in 1979 due to the construction of the Kotmale Dam under the Mahaweli Development Program. The ruins of the temple can still be seen when the water level of the Kotmale reservoir receded.
It is said that 57 villages and 54 religious places in Kotmale were submerged with the completion of the reservoir in 1985. Apart from Kadadora Viharaya, other shrines including Thispane Viharaya, Morape Devalaya, Othalawa Viharaya, Patthini Devalaya and Medagoda Viharaya are said to have been submerged when the reservoir was built. However, most of these temple ruins no longer exist.
To commemorate these submerged religious sites, the Mahaweli authorities built a bubble-shaped pagoda near the Mahaweli Maha Seya, which is second only to the Ruwanweli Seya in Anuradhapura in height. I have buried many stories related to the Kadadora Viharaya with this temple.
