Today I’m moving the flock to a fresh paddock on our new 25 acre property here in Bridgeport, Texas. This is a big step for JMZ Farms as we continue growing and improving how we raise our pasture-raised laying hens.
Rotating chickens to fresh grass is one of the most important parts of pasture-raised farming. It keeps the hens healthy, spreads natural fertilizer across the land, and gives the birds constant access to fresh forage, bugs, and sunshine. In this video you’ll get a real POV look at what it’s like moving hundreds of laying hens across the pasture and setting them up on new ground.
