He cited India's reliance on imported goods, including 90% of its semiconductors and 85% of its oil, as significant strategic weaknesses. He warned that this kind of dependence could bind India's national security and economic growth to the will of other countries.
​He argued that the nature of modern conflict has shifted. "The wars that we have to fight today are often invisible," he said. "They are fought in server farms, and not in trenches. The weapons are algorithms, not guns. The empires are not built on land; they are built in data centres." He challenged the students to see themselves as the new "freedom fighters" whose innovation and ideas are the new weapons.
​To help drive this change, Adani announced the creation of the Adani-IIT Platinum Jubilee Change Makers Fellowship. This program, coordinated by IIT Kharagpur and covering all IITs, will channel top talent into high-impact projects that align with national priorities. He also proposed the establishment of "living laboratories" in sectors like renewable energy, logistics, and airports, where students can test their ideas in real-world settings.
​He concluded his speech with a powerful choice for the graduating students: a choice between a "salary" and a "legacy." He urged them to choose the path that contributes to the nation's rise, stating, "If you align your ambitions with India’s rise, the peak of your careers will unfold alongside the peak of India’s power."
