Small demo track. Setting of LOD In LOD Out parameter allows you to split objects into small/medium/large groups (batches) that are rendered using hardware instancing . I can say from experience. Small objects are better to set a LOD Out of 150-300 meters. The larger the dimensions of the model and the lighter model, the more you can set the LOD Out to ~1000 meters. The smaller the dimensions of the model and the heavier the reference model itself, you need to set the LOD Out parameter to 100-200 meters.
Why is it important. If the parameter LOD Out is by default, for example, 2000 meters. And at the same time, the model for example is quite heavy (like blue teapoy in video). This means that when exporting from btb to the game, the program will create rendering lists (batches) based on the LOD Out parameter. And if it is large enough, then it can turn out to be a very large group in which there will be not hundreds, but thousands of instances. Which will greatly load the your GPU and your fps will go down.
