A couple in Australia was sentenced to prison for neglect after starving their daughter and stunting her growth.
The 17-year-old ballerina was hospitalized from malnutrition, and she weighed only 60 lbs, the weight of an average nine-year-old. It was then revealed that her parents treated her like a child, and restricted her social interaction while forging her birth certificate to mask her real age.
The girl, now age 20, is still fully dependent on her parents, who are both eligible for parole.
