Johannesburg's water woes have been brought to Mayor Dada Morero's doorstep. Scores of residents picketed outside the Johannesburg Council chambers in Braamfontein. They are calling for an urgent response from the mayor to the city's water crisis. The protesters want revenue from the sale of water to be strictly used for Joburg Water and related infrastructure and not reallocated to other services. And for Joburg Water to honour its commitment in its Turnaround Strategy to reduce response time for bursts and blockages from 48 hours to 24 hours. These residents say they are fed up with intermittent water supplies in their areas.
