Is this the best mochi in Japan? We certainly thought so! Coming to Nara this time round we made sure to take a peek at the famous mochi pounding at Nakatanidou.
The yomogi mochi is super soft and stretchy. That consistency cannot be matched and the red bean filling just topped it off. Such a delicious treat!
The times for the mochi pounding are very random as they will only make more if the supply is running low. There are no set times so best to stick around or gauge how much mochi is left.
