Let's be honest: ASHRAE 90.1 Appendix G is one of the most complex compliance workflows you'll encounter anywhere in the world. If you've spent time wrestling with baseline rotations and exceptional calculations, you already know this. If you haven't, consider yourself warned.
On February 18th, we hosted a 45-minute session to introduce our new Appendix G workflows, starting with the 2019 version.
We walked through what actually happens under the hood on the Better Building platform, then run through some quick examples to show the workflow in action.
Our approach is potentially 40% faster than whatever free OR paid solution you're currently using. Yes, 40%. We're standing by that number.
The efficiency gains come from streamlining drawing, specification, simulation, and post-processing into a single coherent workflow. The result is that we're actually cheaper than free software solutions (once you factor in your time, which, last we checked, still has value).
Coming soon: We'll also be rolling out ASHRAE 90.1 Energy Cost Budget methods and the 2022 versions of both Appendix G and ECB later this month and into next.
