꽃이 지기 전에

늦은 오후 버스는 떠나고
벚꽃 아래 너만 남아
나는 한 걸음 늦은 사람처럼
계절 뒤에 서 있었다

어깨 위로 꽃이 내려와
아무 말 대신 흔들리고
주머니 속 망설임만
자꾸 손끝에 남아 있었다

같은 길을 걷고 있었지만
우린 서로 다른 시간
말하지 못한 한마디가
봄보다 더 길어졌다

꽃이 지기 전에
한 번만 돌아봐
늦게 온 이 마음도
사랑이 될 수 있나

가로등 불이 켜질 때
너의 그림자 길어지고
붙잡지 못한 순간들이
밤처럼 번져 갔다

신호등이 몇 번 바뀌고
우린 끝내 웃어 버렸지
약속 하나 없이도
이별은 이미 시작됐다

꽃이 다 져도
나는 여기 있을까
너를 보내던 자리
봄만 다시 올까

다음 해 같은 골목에서
또다시 꽃은 피어나고
잊었다 믿던 이름이
바람처럼 돌아온다

꽃이 지기 전에
말했어야 했는데
사랑은 언제나
계절보다 늦는다



Before the Flowers Fall

The late afternoon bus has left,
only you remain beneath the cherry blossoms.
Like someone a step too late,
I stood behind the season.

A blossom fell onto your shoulder,
trembling in place of any words,
and only the hesitation in my pocket
kept lingering at my fingertips.

We were walking the same road,
yet in different times.
One sentence left unspoken
grew longer than the spring.

Before the flowers fall,
turn back just once.
Can this late-arriving heart
still become love?

When the streetlight came on,
your shadow lengthened,
and the moments I failed to hold
spread like night.

After the signal changed several times,
we finally laughed.
Even without a single promise,
the farewell had already begun.

Even after all the blossoms fall,
will I still remain here?
The place where I let you go—
will only the spring return?

Next year, on the same alley,
the flowers will bloom again,
and the name I believed forgotten
will come back like the wind.

Before the flowers fall,
I should have spoken.
Love is always
later than the season.
