Middle infield is earned, not given. At just 11 years old, DJ is learning the demands of shortstop through reps, mistakes, adjustments, and consistency. The plays aren’t always perfect, but the effort is constant. Making the routine plays, finishing outs, communicating, and competing hard for his coaches and teammates.
Trust at shortstop comes from reliability, focus, and willingness to learn. DJ is still growing into the position, still learning the game, and still pushing himself every time he’s on the field. This is what real development looks like when progress matters more than polish.
