Why Use an AquaFrame
The AquaFrame was designed by Aqua Instructors as a strategy to avoid injury while demonstrating high impact and suspended moves on pool deck. Think about it, the concept of exercising in water is to protect our joints yet somehow we've neglected thinking about self preservation of the Aqua Fitness Instructor!!
An additional benefit to using the AquaFrame is to design movement patterns that can be delivered on pool deck in a smooth and easy manner....image putting together for example:
1. Flicka Kick (Right Leg) x 8
2. Tuck Jump in the middle x 8
3. Flicka Kick (Left Leg) x 8
4. Propel Double Leg Curl x 8
Replicating Moves on Pool Deck
The Aqua Fitness Instructor is expected to motivate and replicate moves as if moving in water; oops one little issue. Instructor is on land (gravity) and the participant is in water (buoyancy).
Is it Hard to Use the AquaFrame?
There's no doubt, you have to practise and feel familiar with the best way to use the AquaFrame according to you agility, coordination and strength. Instructors of all ages have had great success using the AquaFrame by
a) trying the movement pattern in the water first
b) rehearsing how to instruct the move on land without the AquaFrame
c) establishing the most efficient and effective manner to deliver the move safely using the AquaFrame.
