Originally dispatched to a reported field fire, units arrived on scene to find a working structure fire. Due to being dispatched to a field fire, crews arrived on scene with our 300-gallon rescue truck and our first-due engine, which had no water supply, and crews were dressed out for a field fire response. The crew quickly packed out and deployed the bumper line upon arrival. Once the bumper line was deployed, the crew experienced an issue with the engine going into pump mode, which can be noticed at 02:50, causing a slight delay in getting water on the fire. The crew made a push through the alpha side door immediately encountering floor to ceiling storage of miscellaneous items including large pieces of furniture. The crew continued to make a slow push due to the multiple obstacles throughout the residence and were able to get a good knock on the fire, containing it to two rooms of the structure. SSFR arrived on scene providing a water supply to our engine and manpower for overhaul. Below is a copy of the department's news release for the incident.

On Monday afternoon, BFD C-Shift was dispatched to the 200 block of Lee Road 377 following reports of a field fire.

Upon their arrival, firefighters observed a single-wide mobile home with smoke and flames visible on the alpha side, alongside a fire affecting approximately one acre of adjacent field. The incident was upgraded to a working structure fire, which brought additional fire companies to the scene. Firefighters promptly deployed a 1 3/4" hose line to the front door and initiated an interior fire attack, confirming with the homeowner that all occupants had evacuated safely and were unharmed. It was noted that the residence was primarily used for storage, leading firefighters to discover storage boxes and furniture stacked from floor to ceiling within the structure upon their entry.

During their interior attack, firefighters encountered numerous obstacles that hindered their efforts to extinguish the flames. The fire was logged under control at 1:00pm, with no injuries reported. Investigations revealed that the cause of the fire was a nearby controlled burn that had spread uncontrollably.

The Beulah Fire Department responded with two apparatus and six personnel, remaining on the scene for an hour and a half before returning to service.
