Brandon Davis shares his lacrosse journey with Lacrosse Leadership Institute's founder, Ryan Berns. Brandon found lacrosse as a youth player and fell in love. His town didn't have a team, so he had to trek to the neighboring town to play youth ball and then ultimately start his high school lacrosse program. Brandon didn't have a typical recruiting process, however he started his colligate lacrosse career as an LSM, and his Sophomore year rose to the call to become the team's goalie. His pinnacle playing moment comes from one of his teammates demanding him to, "quit making excuses and start making saves". This statement changed the trajectory of Brandon's life. He started to realize that everyone faces adversity, but character reviles itself during those tough times. He dug deep and started making an impact between the pipes. This shift in attitude is what has made him a high impact coach. Brandon's pinnacle coaching moment comes from his experience coaching Shelby Campbell. Shelby transferred into his program with a lot of untapped potential. Brandon worked hard with her to have her buy into the system they had built. She eventually bough in and started making small changed. This shift has led her to living a phenomenal life and being quite successful as a Sherriff.

Lacrosse has empowered young players around the country to follow their dreams. The skills you learn from the sport impact your life in countless ways. Coach Davis harps on character and integrity. The best leaders are the one's that lead by example. They do the right thing even if it's not the popular decision. Brandon shares an example of transforming a lacrosse club into a group of lacrosse players, then into a lacrosse team, and ultimately into a lacrosse program. Brandon had a player who was talented as a freshman, but didn't fit the culture of the team. He ultimately went on to cut her from the program her senior year. Although this was an unpopular decision, Brandon took responsibility for the tough call and saw it pay off as the team went on to win a State Championship. Brandon shares the 10-80-10 concept for team culture and creates a fantastic template for other leaders to use to create teams with dynamic chemistry.
