My subscriber helped me blindly shop at Target! Bonus clip

Wow, what a fun experience this was getting to have one of my subscribers, a sales associate at my local Target store help me shop. Everyone, this is Naomi!

As you will see/hear through this experience, Naomi did an amazing job with helping me find the things I was wanting to find. She did a great job giving me descriptions, directions, and making the experience fun. I know it’s not easy helping someone who’s blind for the first time, left and right directions are always challenging LOL. But you know, I think she did a great job!

If you ever give assistance to a blind individual, always remember to just relax, we are no different from you, the only difference is our eyes just don’t work perfectly. Blind individuals are normal, we enjoy the beauty in this world, we just see it through different eyes.

Some helpful tips when giving assistance to a blind or visually impaired person, first of all, perhaps ask in the beginning how you can assist them best. If you were guiding them like Naomi was guiding me through the store, as you heard her in the video, give descriptions of things that are around you as you are walking. Tell the blind individual maybe the things that you’re passing, that is always very helpful. In addition, keep in mind to keep talking to the blind individual so they can keep track of your location. When you are silent, it’s hard for the blind individual to follow. And lastly, just like you heard with Naomi, always have a very respectful and polite demeanor. It’s already very stressful shopping blind, but when you are given assistance like Naomi gave me, it makes the whole experience so much brighter. 💛
