Mini Flyovers on the Anandapuram National Highway From Anakapalli Through Visakhapatnam
Check Visakha traffic problems with 'Mini'.. 12 fly overs in just 67 km. The government has accelerated the work on infrastructure development in Visakhapatnam. Visakhapatnam will soon end the traffic problems that have been plaguing the city for decades. The National Highways Development Agency (NHAI) is gearing up to construct 12 mini flyovers on the national highway from Anakapalli to Anandapuram through Visakhapatnam. As per the proposals of the state government, these mini flyovers have been sanctioned under the 'One Time Investment Scheme'. It is remarkable that the construction of 12 mini flyovers has been approved within a radius of only 67 km. These mini flyovers will be constructed at the junctions of the roads connecting Visakha, Gangavaram ports, Visakha airport and Bhogapuram airport which will be constructed soon. For that, NHAI has granted preliminary permissions with an estimate of Rs.350 crores. Completed tendering process and finalized consultancies for preparation of Comprehensive Project Reports (DPRs). From Anakapalli to Anandapuram, flyovers will be constructed in 3 designs following the geography of those 12 junctions. It has been decided to build them in the shape of plus (+) if four road junction, Y (Y) if three road junction and T (T) if two road junction. Underpasses will be constructed at necessary places. The state government has asked NHAI to take adequate precautions for the construction of Visakhapatnam Metro Rail in future. NHAI said that the DPRs for the construction of 12 mini flyovers are expected to be finalized and approved by the end of January 2023. It is expected to start the tender process in March-April and complete it in a year and a half.
