The origin of this tune's name traces back to a party where things took a wild turn. One of the attendees decided to fire his guns into the ceiling out of exitement for the reinlender tune!
It remains uncertain whether it was the fiddler or the gunman, but they were both associated with the name Griffenfeldt, which subsequently became the title of the song.
