[2025 Retake] Vintage Hitachi Elevators | Ratu Plaza, Jakarta, ID

Описание: A better retake of probably the most well known vintage elevators in Jakarta. This will probably be my last retake of these elevators as I've already filmed these a few times before so it's enough for me.

Obviously nothing has changed much since my 2020 retake and they are still original since 1979. Only one passenger elevator currently operating as the other one has been switched off for a long time, probably derelict now. It still bounces when it switches to a leveling speed and slightly overshots a floor; one of the reasons why I used to be afraid with these elevators when I was a kid to the point that sometimes I refused to ride them. The bell chime has sadly dead.

The service elevators are still the same with only one car operating as the right hand car is now derelict. For some reason that particular elevator doesn't stop at B1 unlike the other one. While the service elevator is much smoother than the passenger one, it feels creepier IMO. Seeing how quiet this place is now, I can understand why they haven't bothered to modernize/replace the elevators and simply left them "as it is".

As I've mentioned before, this shopping mall used to have the first (known) scenic elevator in Indonesia but unfortunately it was removed when the mall was heavily renovated in the mid 1990s. According to an old floor plan on a 1980 Konstruksi magazine article about this mall, these two elevators originally belonged to a department store.
