Hi! I’m Jonathan, a Tenor II from Westwood High School. I am a junior. Here is my vlog for the TMEA LSC All-State Mixed Choir. This is my first time making all-state, I am so so grateful.
This has been the wildest journey ever—3 years of dedication and passion have finally led me to TMEA this year. I was a Bass I for freshman/sophomore year, and I was really close to state; making area both years, only being a few chairs away each year. I felt discouraged, but I never gave up. As my voice matured and started to settle a bit higher, I made the switch to Tenor II and never looked back. I experienced a major growth in my vocal development, and I can’t wait to share with y’all recordings of me solo this year!! It took lots of hard work and positive attitude, but I’m finally here.
I remember watching TMEA vlogs and recordings from concerts CONSTANTLY throughout these years after not making it, which only pushed me harder. Now that I finally am here, I hope this vlog inspires those of y’all who haven’t found their way to state yet—never ever give up!! Worry about yourself only and make sure you are the best you can be. You can do it, I believe in you.
