Day 29: Saturday January 15th 2022.
I first off want to thank the hard working City of Chula Vista employees and the Republic Services crew featured in the video. During the strike, Republic was placing emphasis on business accounts versus multi family dwellings and this video shows the results.
Despite Chula Vista not having their own carts, bins, extra equipment, extra manpower, or even solid waste management department for that matter, they somehow managed to assume responsibility for collecting MFDs and made sure this amount of trash didn't pile up to these levels again. And from the looks of it, they’re doing/did a great job. On Saturday, they performed a morning blitz on two streets in the center of the city before moving on to the next location. After the rear loader gets full, they start filling up the dump trucks with the CAT to take to Oaty Landfill. Feel free to skip around, wanted to keep it raw to show just how much trash accumulated over the lapse in service.
