Bobby the Eastern Bluebird finds water during sub-freezing weather #bluebird #backyardbirds

in this close up video you can see the wind sending ripples across the water surface and you can even see Bobby's feathers blowing all over the place. We kept the water dishes thawed for several days during this Winter storm, one bird bath has a heater that keeps it from freezing up nicely and the smaller plates we bring out hot water to thaw them with and then poor medium temp water back into the plates.

Bird bath heaters are not a large expense at all - and they bring more birds to your hosted feeder/bath environment than you would probably believe! We had 3 types of Warblers, Kinglets, Cardinals, Blue Jay's, Blue birds, Mockingbirds, 4 types of woodpeckers and one of our all time favorites (Cedar Waxwings) stopped by as well!
