WHARNCLIFFE WOODS killed my focus sam2 2023

Описание: Riding Wharncliffe Woods on my focus sam2 - some of the best MTB trails we've ridden in the UK! The home trails of Steve Peat just outside Sheffield and the Peak District.



Natural gnarly trails with loads of jumps (some big ones!) and some Canadian style rock slabs and features. There are two woods in this area - Wharncliffe and Grenoside. Grenoside is where Steve Peat's Steel City Downhill track is. We didn't venture over to that side on this ride - that's for another time! There were so many MTB trails packed into this forest, it was incredible. Many interlink and share exits.


This spot is especially popular for downhill riders as there is plenty geared towards the big bikes with everything still looking doable on all bikes dependent on rider preference of course. A decent gradient on all trails made it ideal for us on the enduro rigs. Fairly fast and some rough techy sections on the descents. There were some old school downhill trails in there too - pretty severe looking with some big gap jumps!




Climbs were pretty short as the descents aren't long but the trails were long enough you could get some flow going and didn't feel they were over too quick. Absolutely loved it! I believe (from what I can see) the trails are maintained by Ride Sheffield. Amazing work clearly goes into these trails and if you ride here then check them out :).
