My Slinger Bag is an original model I received from Kickstarter at the beginning of 2020. But in the fall of 2023 it wouldn't turn on anymore. Even when I got a green light on the AC adapter after a full charge. At the time of making this video it's 4 years old. Eventually, I fixed it and here's what I did to get it working again.

I'm going to check a few things inside the launcher itself. I first removed the battery so I can get a look at the power connector. I thought it might've come loose but with the snap in junction, there's no way it's detaching on its own. But still I disconnected it to check if the contacts are clean. If you have a newer Slinger, your connection is probably a simple plug-in type and different than mine. Of course it's possible that a wire is shorted out but not in my case.

Next I needed to remove the control panel and circuit board. I've read online that sometimes the power switch gets worn out and needs to be replaced. But again, that is not what's wrong with mine. I wasn't going to worry about the switch until I took a look behind the panel. But be aware that there is a USB plug at the top right that needs to be unplugged before the faceplate can be fully removed. Also, be careful with the bottom connect which tends to snag on the edge.

One of the recommended fixes was to flip the power switch on and off 10-20 times. Probably to help clear out debris but this didn't help. So I got a can of pressurized air to help blow out anything that might be stuck inside the switch. I went all around with some good blasts. And actually this part can be done without removing the front panel.

Then on the circuit board, I saw a ton of tennis ball fuzz around the back of the switch and behind the dials. So while I had the circuit board out, I really tried to blow out as much of the tennis ball fibers as I could. After I plugged the battery in the Slinger Bag powered on!

So the problem was that there was too much tennis ball fuzz caught in the switch and circuit board. And if this ever happens again, I'm going to try to blow everything out first without opening it up.
