How can we feed the future? Chief Executive and Founder of Mary's Meals, Magnus MacFarlane-Barrow talks on his experience of helping with emergency feeding programmes, dating back to Malawi in 2002, to then establishing Mary's Meals, in order to put forward his belief that it is possible to enable every child to eat at least one good meal every day in their place of education.
Magnus MacFarlane-Barrow OBE is Founder and Chief Executive of Mary’s Meals, a global charity that provides a daily meal in a place of education to more than one million of the world’s poorest children. The meal attracts children to the classroom, where they gain a basic education that can provide an escape route from poverty.
In 2010, Magnus was praised as a CNN hero and in 2015, he was named one of TIME magazine's 100 most influential people in the world. His book, The Shed That Fed A Million Children, reached the UK’s Times and Sunday Times bestseller list immediately after release.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
