Executive Orders: In times of emergency, the president can override congress and issue executive orders. Abraham Lincoln, Woodrow Wilson, and Franklin Roosevelt issued executive orders, before Harry Truman, in times of emergency.

-Question the court must answer.
Supreme Court

Petitioner
-present a formal request to a court, in position of plaintiff
Respondent
-a person who replies to something, in position of defendant
Dissent
An explicit disagreement by one or more judges with the decision of the majority on a case before them.
Injunction
court order by which an individual is required to perform, or is restrained from performing, an act.
Stay
temporarily stopping a judicial proceeding.
Veto
refusal of an executive officer to agree to a bill
Executive Order
declaration by the president or a governor which has the force of law, and requiring no action by the Congress or state legislature.
