Indigo Penalised: CGST Slaps ₹59 Crore GST Penalty on IndiGo for FY21, Airline to Contest Order

Описание: In a fresh development, the Additional Commissioner of CGST, Delhi South Commissionerate, has imposed a penalty of nearly ₹59 crore on IndiGo for the financial year 2020–21. In a filing to the BSE, the airline said the GST department has raised a tax demand along with a penalty. IndiGo maintained that the order is erroneous, asserted it has a strong case on merits based on external tax advisors’ opinions, and confirmed it will challenge the order before the appropriate authority.
