Amorphous materials are tricky! For one thing, they are always changing. If you leave candy floss (or cotton candy) in the open air it will have shrunk to almost nothing in just a few minutes. What is it that amorphous glasses do that mean they disappear? The process is called relaxation (or ageing) and it's not hard to understand if you think about what the molecules can (and cannot) do.
