4 Locomotives Train With Engine On Rear Challenges Mt Zion Hill, 3+1, Derail Switch Explained +Chase

I went all the way out to the eastern end of the line to get a heavy train with 4 of the railroads operating locomotives out of 5. I found the train at Mount Zion just after they finished doing some railroad switching. The train has 3 locomotives on the front and one on the rear. They had a load of untreated railroad ties from McCoy Lumber, an empty cement covered hopper car from storage, loaded gondola cars and hopper cars of rock and flat cars that were pulled from storage. The flat cars are interesting because they used to be auto racks.
The best part is watching the train come up the hill out of Mt Zion. It's been a long time since I filmed a heavy train on this grade. Listen to the locomotives as they enter the east end of Winchester. This video shows the chase to Sardinia. Part 2 will start there with some railroad switching.
We also see a derail switch up close and take a close look at the rail. There are also Norfolk & Western Railway color position signals that we take a look at. This is a classic short line railroad video with all kinds of history. We also see a lot for sale next to the railroad.
