The Philippine Senate impeachment court has heard testimony from its first witness in the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte.

National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) senior agent John Mark Calilung testified that he personally preserved and authenticated the video of Sara Duterte's November 2024 virtual press conferences, where she allegedly spoke about a supposed plot involving President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez.

The Philippine Senate has resumed the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte, with senators sitting as judges to hear four articles of impeachment involving confidential funds, unexplained wealth, corruption, and alleged threats against government leaders.

The proceedings are expected to include preliminary matters, opening statements, and the presentation of witnesses and evidence. The Senate is set to first examine the fourth article, which accuses Duterte of making grave threats against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and his family.
