Sohbat or Painda is a traditional food of the southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan. It is also called “Painda” in the Pashto language, which means “a group of people sitting together”. This dish is also popular in the Saraiki Belt of this region and is known as Damaani sohbat.

Painda is a Pashto word which means 'gathering'. Long ago, people used to cook Painda or a similar one dish for the entire family who would huddle in a circle round a big open ended dish called Khanak in local dialect to enjoy the most scrumptious food.

Pashtun traditional food revolve around meat chicken and delicious aroma. Painda is one of the favorite delicious food liked by every single person in KPK, Pakistan. A friend invited us to Painda Dinner with Lassi and on the way back we took milkshake to beat the ha\eat of blazing summer!
