Here is @AndrewBoothEA of our Hydrometry & Telemetry team measuring the river flow at the @EnvAgencyNW gauging station at Great Musgrave Bridge, on the river Eden in Cumbria.
We measure the flows at this site at all different levels, and the data is used for a wide range of applications, such as creating flood warnings, detecting drought & abstraction planning.
On this day we measured 4900 litres per second; the highest we've ever measured is 236,697 litres per second, and the lowest a paltry 491 litres per second.
