As President Joe Biden & Prime Minister Rishi Sunak land in Northern Ireland, the entire route is cleared of people between the airport and Belfast. No one was allowed to stand along the motorcade route until it reached the city centre.
Air Force One, the callsign given to the Boeing VC-25 when he is on board, landed at Belfast International shortly after 21:00 during stormy weather with high winds and heavy rain. G-GBNI, the plane used by the UK Government, landed thirty minutes before.
The motorcades of both VIPs travelled along a route completely cleared by police. All buildings were searched. And the politicians travelled in heavily armoured cars.
Joe Biden is expected to partake in Good Friday Agreement 25th anniversary celebrations in Northern Ireland before connecting with his ancestral routes in the Republic of Ireland.
