Running Shoe Repair With Shoe Goo

Bought some Shoo Goo to apply to the soles of a pair of Nike Lunaracers. I use these for most of my runs, trading off with a couple of other pair of shoes. The Lunaracers have been a great shoe for me (this is my third pair) but the soles wear out a bit quicker than I like. My thought was to try Shoe Goo on the areas that have been wearing down to try and prolong their life. It might be a waste of time but if I get even a couple months more use out of these shoes I would be happy. The Shoo Goo cost me $6.00 and it can be used for many other projects that need to be glued.
Update 9/14/15: So far the Shoo Goo I applied to the bottom of my shoes is holding up. You can see it is wearing down some, no problem as I can add a bit more to it.
