Описание: The CRISTIAN ROSEMARY PROJECT is a constantly evolving musical initiative, always based on the compositions of the Canadian-Chilean guitarist, singer, and composer Cristian Rosemary. In addition to performing various bossa nova and MPB classics, he writes his own bossa novas in French and Spanish, as well as a wide variety of original songs and even instrumental pieces. Whether solo, in a duo, trio, or quartet, Cristian Rosemary's repertoire is always an invitation to be captivated by the beauty of his jazzy sounds.
A month ago, Cristian Rosemary brought his band together to record a video rehearsal, performing excerpts from some of his compositions. We hope this modest video gives an impression of the richness of his repertoire.

Que ce soit en solo ou avec son propre trio, le musicien Cristian Rosemary joue dans de différentes places consacrées au jazz, comme le Festi Jazz de Mont-Tremblant; mais aussi dans les endroits accueillant la musique du monde, comme le Club Balattou de Montréal.

Depuis 2022, Cristian Rosemary a eu la chance de se faire accompagner sur la scène (ou le studio) de quelques musiciens top de la scène québécoise/canadienne, comme le pianiste, arrangeur et directeur d’orchestre Guy St-Onge, ex-directeur musical de Céline Dion et Michel Legrand; la pianiste Elizabeth Shepherd, 6 fois nominée aux prix JUNO (catégorie "jazz"); et le multi-instrumentiste Jean-François Groulx, Récipiendaire du prix Du Maurier du Festival international de jazz de Montréal, et pianiste depuis 2012 à l’émission de télé “En direct de l’univers”, animée par France Beaudoin à Radio-Canada.

D’ailleurs, Cristian Rosemary a écrit les paroles pour une des pièces instrumentales de Jean-François Groulx (“Sin tu luz”), version que les deux musiciens ont déjà présentée ensemble, lors des récents concerts du Cristian Rosemary Trio, effectués à Val-David, à Sainte-Adèle et à Sainte-Agathe.

Le répertoire de Cristian Rosemary met en avant les classiques de la bossa-nova brésilienne chantés en portugais, ainsi que ses propres bossas-novas écrites en français et en espagnol et ses autres compositions avec des influences sonores de l’Amérique du Sud.

Artiste canadien d’origine chilienne, Cristian Rosemary a fait une petite carrière musicale au Chili (de 1980 à 1991), carrière qu’il a reprise récemment avec plus d’intensité. À partir de 2022, il se produit non seulement au Canada, mais aussi au Costa Rica, en Inde, au Chili et au Brésil.

Étant notamment un chansonnier, le musicien a écrit depuis 1976 environ 200 compositions, cependant il a aussi fait l’adaptation des paroles de plusieurs succès de la chanson internationale, soit au français ou à l’espagnol:

-Adaptation au français:
“The look of love” (Burt Bacharach/D.Hall); “Close to You”/They Long to Be (Burt Bacharach/Hal David); et “Smile” (Charles Chaplin/Turner/Parsons); "My foolish heart" (Victor Young).

-Adaptation à l’espagnol:
“Eleanor Rigby” (The Beatles); “I’ve got you under my Skin” (Cole Porter); "Dans mon île" (H.Salvador/Pom); et “The Captain of her Heart” (Kurt Maloo/Felix Haug).

Depuis 2022, Cristian Rosemary joue avec son trio (Cristian Rosemary Trio), formé par Alain Plouffe, en batterie; Guy Richer, en contrebasse; et lui-même, en guitare, voix et compositions.

Whether solo or with his own trio, musician Cristian Rosemary performs in venues dedicated to jazz, such as the Festi Jazz de Mont-Tremblant, and in places that welcome world music, like the Club Balattou in Montreal.

A Canadian artist of Chilean origin, Cristian Rosemary had a small musical career in Chile (1980 to 1991), which he recently resumed with more intensity. Since 2022, he has performed not only in Canada but also in Costa Rica, India, and any destination that takes him elsewhere than Canada during his time as a “snowbird.”

Since 2022, Cristian Rosemary has had the chance to be accompanied on stage (or in the studio) by some of the top musicians on the Quebec/Canadian scene, such as pianist, arranger and orchestra director Guy St-Onge, former musical director of Céline Dion and Michel Legrand; pianist Elizabeth Shepherd, 6 times nominated for a JUNO award (in the "jazz" category); and multi-instrumentalist Jean-François Groulx, recipient of the Du Maurier Award from the Montreal International Jazz Festival, and pianist since 2012 on the TV show “En direct de l’univers”, hosted by France Beaudoin on Radio-Canada. Moreover, Cristian Rosemary wrote the lyrics for one of Jean-François Groulx’s instrumental pieces (“Sin tu luz”).

Cristian Rosemary’s repertoire highlights Brazilian bossa nova classics sung in Portuguese, bossa novas written in French and Spanish, and other compositions with sound influences from South America.
