Post Mortem:
This was one of my first ever proper race done since 2018. I'm not gonna lie, my expectations coming into this race was high (to be on the podium), but the actual race turned out to be far from it. Disappointed for sure, but I'm sure there are many things that I've could have done better.

In a race like this, legends of the sport will tell you that the most powerful rider will NOT win the race. In fact, the one with good power, combined with knowledge and experience, that will win the race. (with a bit of luck as well)

TWO major things that I could improve on from this race.
1. Position.
The race itself doesn't require a lot of power to follow along. But by staying at the back, crashes, bad road conditions, unable to choose your cornering line, harder accelerations out of corners, makes the race TWICE as hard compared to riders who are at the front.

2. Confidence.
I definitely felt nervous from the start to the finish. (and I'm sure many other riders as well). And I think part of it is also because I (and many others) haven't raced in so many years! But I believe confidence comes with practice, the more we race, the more experiences we gain, the better racer we become.

Overall I think it was a fantastic event, a great initiative by Selangor Youth. I'm happy to see that racing is back, and I believe it is a step forward towards a sporting event like the USA Crits.
