“I am having issues with my vowel clarity. My Chiarascuro is all scuro! How can I fix this?”
We discuss the importance of maintaining an open pharynx, independent of the depth of the larynx, in order to achieve proper vocal technique. The nasal pharynx in particular must stay open, and this leads to the concept of ‘chiaroscuro’ - an opened but covered sound with a deep larynx position
