Zoo Boo (Official Animatic) [2015]

Описание: Happy Halloween! This is the official animatic for Parry Gripp's Zoo Boo music video I made in 2015.

Its been long time since I made this one! It was SUPER fun to make, here's some production highlights that I can remember about it:

-This music video was made during the production of the Last Train To Awesome Town music video. I was a creatively stuck for a while making that one (i was also juggling college classes) & I had always liked this song so I asked Parry if I could put Awesome Town on hold for a bit to make this music vid for Halloween to help break the art block.

-This video was animated completely in Toon Boom Harmony. I was trying out a lot of cool features that weren't previously accessible in Adobe Flash (which I had attempted to branch away from for a few years to learn how to use more programs). This one I made a puppet rig for the main ghost guy, used the asset warp tools on some animals & used lots of effects for the backgrounds like water movement, 3D space / parallax & lighting effects on assets. These effects arent too wild nowadays but they were mind blowing in 2015!

-Speaking of backgrounds, the BG assets were drawn by Josh Chambers! I had a whole layout of the zoo planned for this music video w/ all the shots placed in specific spots. I remember giving Josh a hard time about what to draw since I not only had everything planned a certain way but also needed certain pieces of each background separated so I can work do cool stuff in Toon Boom. Poor guy had to listen to an annoying 17 year old's nonsensical instructions! But the backgrounds still turned out awesome!! He was a perfect fit for a Halloween video. -All the costumed animals were super fun to design. Some didn't make the cut or had their costumes changed. You can see a few in this animatic, one being the Frankincense Toucan & the other being the ending elephant wearing a ghost costume instead of being a zombie like in the final video.
