I picked up the Pado 9Bar, a stovetop espresso maker that looks identical to the 9Barista—but at a fraction of the price. This 9Barista alternative claims to deliver true 9-bar espresso, using a dual-chamber pressure system similar to the original. But does it actually work?
In this video, I unbox the Pado 9Bar, walk through its design, and test it for the first time using the Aikamo K63 hand grinder with flat burrs. Since the Pado 9Bar isn’t induction-compatible, I also use the Bialetti induction plate to make it work on an induction stove.
Key Topics Covered:
• Pado 9Bar Unboxing – First look at this 9Barista-style stovetop espresso maker
• Espresso Test – Can it actually pull a real espresso shot with full 9-bar pressure?
• Build Quality & Design – How does it compare to the 9Barista?
• Induction Compatibility – Why I needed an induction adapter
• Grinder Setup – Using the Aikamo K63 (Cafesing Orca) with flat burrs for espresso
I wasn’t sure if the copy, Pado 9bar, was a good alternative to the 9Barista or destined to be a paperweight. But does it match the original, or is something lost in translation? Watch and find out.
