Cluj Railway Station started to function in 1873 when the first railroad reached the city. The Main building dates back to 1902 and it was built after the Royal Hungarian Railways' Chief Architect Ferenc Pfaff's plans, who also designed the Bratislava, Kosice (SK), Debrecen (simmilar to Cluj building), Miskolc Tiszai, Szeged, Pécs (HU), Satu Mare, Carei, Ghimes (RO), Zagreb, Rijeka (HR) etc. railway stations.
After suffering notable damage during the II. World War bombings, the station was reconstructed in its original neorenascentist style, being one of the three regional rail hubs (besides Bucharest Northern Station, Iasi) with a heritage building.
The station`s first track is rarely used for larger passenger train units.
A second building for commuter trains was erected in 1975.
The CFR mainline no.300 and the connecting line 401 pass through and start from this station.

Indulás a kolozsvári pályaudvar 1. vágányáról, Tövis felé.
A kolozsvári vasútállomás téglaborítású épülete 1902-ben épült Pfaff Ferenc MÄV műépitész tervei alapján. Az előző, fából készült indóház építését és az első vasúti sínek lefektetését 1869. január 7-én kezdték el. Az elővárosi közlekedést kiszolgáló kisállomást 1975-ben építették mellé.
A vasútállomás a CFR 300. és 401. sz. vonalán áll.
Az első vágányt ritkán használják hosszabb szerelvények kiinditására.

Printre putinele gari mari cu o arhitectura istorica, Gara Cluj isi pastreaza stilul neorenasentist gandit de Ferenc Pfaff, arhitectul principal al MAV la cumpana secolelor XIX-XX, zeci de gari din Ungaria, Slovacia, Serbia, Romania si Croatia de astazi. Procesul de modernizare neincheiat de un deceniu a oferit ocazia de a prinde o garnitura mai lunga pe linia 1, de unde panorama spre piata si cladire este mai interesanta. Daca va intrebati de viteza, ea este de 30 km/h: podul peste Somes a avut scadenta de reparatie capitala de ani buni.

Das Klausenburgische Hauptbahnhof wurde im 1902 gebäudet. Das 1. linie ist seltener benutzt für lange Züge, und gibt ein interesante anblick an die Hauptbahnhofsplatz und die nahige "Kleinbahnhof" für Regionalzüge.
