Muthathi is a small village on the banks of the river Kaveri, which belongs to Halaguru Hobli, Malavalli Taluk, Mandya district, Karnataka state. Muthathi is around 107 km from Bangalore. It is a quite popular destination for one-day trip, for bikers, nature lovers, for family who love to enjoy, and a near-by picnic spot.
The location has mythological associations with Sita (the wife of Rama) and Anjaneya (a Hindu deity/god).Karnataka Rathna Dr. Rajkumar was named Muthuraja after the temple deity of this place - Muthathiraya (Anjaneya).
There are also trekking trails that take you through the sanctuary to places like #Bheemeshwari and #Sangama. Muthathi is a scenic village and it is fast becoming a favourite picnic spot for people from Bangalore, with its lovely scenery and its amazing river and trekking activities.
