Around a third of Korea's major exporters suffered losses in the third quarter.
An institute under the Export-Import Bank of Korea says 30-point-five percent of the firms posted losses in Q3 compared to the previous three-month period.
The figure is more than seven-and-a-half percentage points higher than the figure posted in the second quarter.
Adding to the gloom,... only twelve percent of the exporters surveyed said they fared better in the third quarter than they did in the second.
The companies blamed their losses mostly on an overall decrease in demand,... followed by the fluctuating exchange rate, a drop in price-competitiveness and increased competition.
Looking ahead,... the institute found that 35 percent of the exporter expect profits to drop in the next quarter.
