When all my hair fell out by making the mistake of putting a hair relaxer on my bleached hair I was so embarrassed and upset with myself that I felt the only way I could feel better was if everyone knew, that way no one would question me and create an awkward situation. I could have dealt with the situation very differently though. I could have chose to wear a wig similar to my old hair and hope no one ever tugged on my hair or the wind didn't blow too hard or any other traumatizing situation. But no! I decided to let everyone know that I messed up and by making it public online in turn created the wonderful career I have today. Part of my career is my favorite type of videos, my wig hauls! I have wore every type of wig imaginable (lace front, human hair, synthetic, short, curly, cosplay, $20, etc) yet I have never wore any of my wigs in public but TODAY IS THE DAY!
For today's video I put on my new Uniwigs lace front wig and with a deep breath wore this wig to multiple stores and filmed people's reactions to see if anyone stared at me or made a side comment or even approached me to comment on my "hair".
The experiment went better than expected when I found no one noticed, even after have a 20 minute long, face to face, conversation with two Ulta workers. I realized if people even assumed it was a wig or not they didn't do anything to make me feel uncomfortable.
ITS ALL HOW YOU ROCK IT! If you would prefer to wear wigs in public the best way to feel comfortable is to act comfortable. If I were thinking everyone was staring at me because of my wig then it would have been a terrible day but you have to think maybe they're looking at you thinking you have the best hair ever, or you have a great outfit on, or (like me) was actually filming them the whole time (lol).
