Using chemistry to mash the melody of an iconic karaoke song into a beer might sound like mad science, but the people from karaoke app Singa and the brewing scientists from 8-Bit Brewing and Coolhead Brew did it anyway.
Jason from 8-bit combined his twin loves of beer and music into a formula which creates a hop profile from the notes of a vocal melody, by correlating hop alpha acids with the musical scale. The profile for this beer has been composed from the melody of an all-time karaoke favourite Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey. The iconic song translates into a light and easy hop profile, rounded out with a medium bodied English style malt bill by Pietari from Coolhead for a smooth and soft tone. So drink it in, belt it out and hold on to that feeling – and don’t stop beerlievin’.
