Crispy Murukku in OTG | No Deep Fry | Perfect Measurements
Make perfectly crispy and delicious Murukku in the OTG using very little oil—without compromising on the traditional Indian taste! Follow this easy recipe with exact measurements for the best results.
📝 Ingredients
Dry Mix:
Rice flour – 3 glasses
Roasted Bengal gram dal powder – 3/4 glass
Sesame seeds – 3 tsp
Cumin seeds – 2 tsp
Red chilli powder – 2 tsp
Salt – as required
Wet Mix:
Water – 2 glasses and 1/4 glass of water
Unsalted butter – 1 tbsp
For Pressing:
A little oil to grease the murukku press
Single-star murukku plate
🧑🍳 Method:
In a bowl, mix rice flour, sesame seeds, cumin seeds, red chilli powder, and salt. Keep aside.
In a thick saucepan, add 2 glasses of water, 1/4 glass water, salt, and 1 tbsp unsalted butter. Bring it to a boil.
Once boiling, add the flour mixture and mix well.
Add the roasted Bengal gram powder and mix again until well combined.
While the mixture is still slightly warm, take a small portion and knead it until smooth and crack-free.
Grease the single-star murukku press, fill it with dough, and press murukku onto a parchment-lined baking tray.
Repeat for the remaining dough.
Bake in a preheated OTG at 180°C for 20 minutes or until crisp and golden.
Cool completely for extra crispiness.
