Rudolf Friml (piano) - Chansonette (Friml) (1925)

Описание: Composer and pianist Rudolf Friml made many recordings during the course of his long career, but this is the only one that seems to turn up. The recording was made in New York on 15 December 1925,

The piece appears to have started its life as 'Chansonette,' then became 'Chanson (In Love)' and was finally reworked by Herbert Stothart and given words to become 'The Donkey Serenade.' As such, it was sung by Allan Jones in the 1937 film, 'The Firefly.'

After musical training and a brief performing career in his native Prague, Friml moved to the United States, where he became a composer. His best-known works are Rose-Marie and The Vagabond King, each of which enjoyed success on Broadway and in London and were adapted for film.
